This page has yet to be finished, but I’ll put a quick little list up here of some of our favorite places.
Pikes Place Market - the famous outdoor market that has the fish throwing place (Pikes Place Fish Market located at 86 Pikes Place). There are so many shops here. I love the specialty tea shop. The market also has loads of fruits and vegetables, hand crafted items, fresh flowers, and fresh from the farm foods. This is also where the famous gum wall is located. The first Starbucks is here too.
The waterfront - We love Ivar’s Seafood Restaurant. We prefer to order from the bar are sit at one of the many tables outside. Ye Olde Curiosity Shop has been on the Seattle waterfront since 1899. It’s always a favorite. The grandkids love the carousel and the ferris wheel.
The Space Needle - The Space Needle was built for the World’s Fair that took place in Seattle. It was recently renovated that includes a glass floor and floor to ceiling windows.
Chihuly Garden and Glass is located at the base of the Space Needle.
Museum of Pop Culture - we’ve never been, but I’ve heard from friends that it’s good.
We love to walk on the ferry to Bainbridge Island. It’s inexpensive and a fun way to get out on the water. The island itself has cute little shops within walking distance of the ferry landing.
The monorail goes from Westlake Center (a mall that is built over a transit center) and the Space Needle.
We enjoy catching a cruise that goes around the bay. Check groupon for discounts.
